Attending the 2022 RLCS World Championship

  • August 25, 2022

Just prior to the recent Coronavirus Pandemic I was introduced to a unique sports game called "Rocket League" by my younger brother Waylon. Living nearly 1000 miles apart we were looking for something to play online together and as I've never really been a "first-person shooter" guy, Rocket League seemed like something fun to pick up and put down while we caught up from time-to-time. In short order however, what began as a way to connect quickly morphed into a new obsession as I found myself playing more and more just for the sake of playing and getting better at the game. This new found hobby...

The Sunfish Project

  • September 15, 2012

When I was younger, my father used to race sailboats out in the Corpus Christi Bay and occasionally I would get to ride along. Ever since then, I've always wanted to try my hand at sailing and so I figured now is as good a time as any. After keeping my eye on Craigslist and eBay for a few weeks, I've finally found the perfect project sailboat for me to restore over the next few months and hopefully have ready by next spring. Preface: After talking with one of my roommates (Brendan) who happens to be a Texans fan, we decided it would be cool to check out the 49ers vs. the Texans at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX. Living in San Antonio, this was the closest place that I could go to see the 49ers play and doing so was something that I have always wanted to do.  Reporting live from Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas! Today's game is between the Houston Texans and my San Francisco 49ers! It promises to be quite a matchup! Updates as the game progresses! Game begins in 25 minutes (Noon)! Update (2:00PM) It's halftime...

KirkScheidt.com, Available on the iPhone

  • October 20, 2009

I had owned my iPhone for approximately six months when I decided to try my hand at coding and publishing my very own iPhone app. The smartphone world was being revolutionized before my very eyes and it seemed that every technology story was about a hot new app available in Apple’s App Store. Not being one who likes to fall behind the times and always up for a challenge, I decided to teach myself the Objective C programming language and learn to use Apple’s developer toolkit to construct my own app for the iPhone. After spending $100 to become an Apple Developer and gain access to the developer...
