Decompressing in Big Bend National Park

After another amazing year had drawn to a close, I pondered the ways that I could start 2014 on high note. My wife was officially at the half-way point in her law school career and we both felt that we needed to get away from the city for a while to decompress and relax. Given our desire to avoid anything crowded and our need for serenity, there was only one place to go; Big Bend National Park! Getting Away for a Day

Sarah and I enjoyed a quick day trip to Krause Springs today! I had never been before but it was a beautiful area and it was a lot of fun to get out of San Antonio for the day. We hiked for a bit, enjoyed a picnic lunch, and played a few games of chess as we watched the sun set. We had a great time and I was able to get a few great shots of the waterfalls within the park.

The Cajun Adventure

While having dinner with Sarah's parents one November evening, the topic of New Orleans found its way into our conversation and it was quickly revealed that I had never been before.
